Man Receives a Prosthetic Nose. A Cathartic Experience.

Thanks to ABC in San Jose, California, Medical Art Prosthetics, and the talents of anaplastologist Maddie Singer a man finally gets a beautiful prosthetic nose. Here is the great news we got from Jason Beal, the producer of the story:

“Hey Greg, hope you are doing well. The story is complete and it’s live on our website! It will air on our 24/7 livestream this Saturday evening, and eventually will air on our broadcast channel sometime after the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade on February 15th. ABC7 is the official media host of that event so all of their focus is on that right now, but afterwards they will promote and air the story to our audience.
I hope you enjoy the piece as much as I enjoyed putting it all together. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this process and capture what it is you all do. It is truly amazing, life-changing work, and I know our audience will be moved by it.”

The prosthetic restoration experience complete

As anaplastologists our focus is on the creation of nose prosthetics, and other lifelike restorations. Its extrordinarily taxing handwork in terms of the intensity of the personal interaction and the hours of exacting focus on details. But then we are putting these silicone creations right on the faces of people devasted by ablative surgery who are so hopeful to feel normal and whole again. Maddie Singer “leaves nothing on the field” as they say when it comes to the added intensity of the pathos present throughout the face-to-face sessions and the nose prosthesis final delivery. It can be  a cathartic experience. Here is a reference to a support group for head and neck cancer called SPOHNC.

We Are a Prosthetic Nose and Clinical Anaplastology Specialty Since 1985

This year, 2025 marks 40 years that the national practice of Medical Art Prosthetics has grown as a professional group of clinical anaplastologists dedicated to improving access to quality nasal prosthetics and increasing awareness of the aspiring profession itself.

The nasal prosthesis seen here demonstrates just one of the techniques we employ to attach the prosthetic nose. The prosthesis seen here has a magnetic insert piece. We also utilize the patient’s anatomy to help hold their nose prosthesis on securely. See a video. Some patients use prosthetic adhesives to attach the nasal prosthesis securely. We are also an establishe provider of the newest implant-retained craniofacial prostheses using the Southern Implant System.
