It’s 2024, and the anaplastologists at Medical Art Prosthetics continue to welcome those in need of a smiling face and a beautifully crafted prosthesis. Our team of six highly skilled anaplastologists is passionate about creating aesthetic prosthetic restorations that help people feel whole again and regain a renewed quality of life.
Over the years, we have met many patients who quietly share the same fear: “I lost my nose to cancer surgery, and now I can’t let my children or grandchildren see me.” If you have had nasal surgery to remove all or part of your nose, please know that you are not alone.
What Is a Rhinectomy?
A rhinectomy is the surgical removal of the nose. When only a portion of the nose is removed, it is referred to as a partial or subtotal rhinectomy. These procedures are sometimes necessary in the treatment of skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma.
While the surgery may be lifesaving, the emotional impact can be profound. The face is central to identity, expression, and connection. Losing part or all of the nose can feel overwhelming.
Restoring More Than Appearance
We understand how traumatic this experience can be. Our role as anaplastologists is to help you recover not just physically, but emotionally and socially. We design and fit custom, lifelike silicone nose prostheses that are individually sculpted and color-matched for each patient.
The goal is simple: to make an easy-to-use prosthesis that restores confidence and allows you to return to everyday life—smiling, laughing, visiting with family, and being seen again.
One of our recent patients, a wonderful woman who underwent ablative cancer surgery, came to us determined to regain her independence. With her custom nose prosthesis, she is now able to spend time with her grandchildren without fear or self-consciousness. That is why we do this work.
