The Creation of Your Toe or Partial Foot Prosthesis:
With silicone prosthetic toe and foot restoration there is no magic involved, just highly focused work – work we enjoy so our patient can relax! We work together with our clients from assessment – through careful capture of every possible detail – to the final evaluation of the fit and final result of the prosthesis.
Lifelike prosthetics to restore appearance to the foot involve many things. It requires exceptional ability to discern color and surface texture and render these details using medical silicones. But this specialty also requires knowledge of human anatomy and the physical properties of hundreds of silicone polymers on the market. The best materials must be selected and properly processed for optimum fit and wear durability.
In terms of functionality, the silicone prosthetic foot will assist in many ways from helping to keep remaining toes in proper alignment, to cushioning bony areas on the bottom of your foot, to improving your overall stability and gait which could help prevent falls. Our certified prosthetist will be available to discuss your foot dynamics even if you are working closely with an anaplastologist in a different MAP network location. You no doubt have your own unique story to tell, and we listen while we go about our work.
So, responsible delivery of foot prosthetics and extremity silicone restoration has a clinical component, a technical and artistic component, and a best practices business component. All aspects are balanced to maximize the prosthetic outcome in view of each patient’s etiology and rehabilitation care plan. Our clients may also enjoy the confidence of knowing Medical Art Prosthetics will be there for years of reliable follow-up service.
Our balance of prosthetics credentials, experience with silicone restoration and over 5 decades of documented successful outcomes are second to none in the United States. Learn more about Medical Art Prosthetics today.
Here is a sample case showing how our client got her lifelike prosthetic foot:
The first picture shows a Florida woman who contracted a serious infection in her foot causing loss of her toes and tissues. Her foot is well healed and ready for prosthetic restoration.
Our Artec scanner was used and a mirror imaging of her model was 3D printed allowing a precise wax prototype of her prosthesis to be created. She could see the dramatic progress of her foot taking shape right in front of her eyes.

Next she got to feel how the prosthesis will fit on her foot. Our silicone check socket or test socket slipped on with a little lubricant and was tested with her sandals to see where the margins will be.

In the same fitting session we placed test color swatches on her foot to record the color array for calibration and formulation in our laboratory.

Opening the precision mold revealed the prosthetic foot with all the needed deep coloration characteristics.

Our patient watched her foot prosthesis receive the final details that enhance realism and bring her prosthesis to life and make it blend beautifully with her skin.

She departed with full aftercare instructions (link to toe/foot aftercare instruction document). Her durable silicone prosthetic partial foot should last years, and her master mold is archived for replacements whenever needed.
She gave her new foot prosthesis a test drive in her sandals and outside in the natural daylight. Looking at both the inside photo and the outside photo you can see the vast difference in color, yet the prosthesis still matches her skin and blends in perfectly.
